Objective:

To train employees in the use of computer software; to design and conduct program specific training to meet funding agency requirements for certification; and to assist with tracking training requirements.

 

Organizational Relationships:

1.      Supervisor:                                                    Administrative Services Director.

 

2.      Employees Supervised:            This is a non-supervisory position.

 

3.      Other: Works closely with agency staff, funding sources, and other related agencies and individuals.

 

General Statement of Duties:

This is a responsible, non-supervisory position.  Duties include presenting information and training materials; assessing and analyzing training needs; and researching, designing, and delivering training programs and materials.

 

Examples of Work:

Essential Duties

Presents information, using a variety of instructional techniques, to AAGOC staff;

Assesses and analyzes training needs of employees in all program areas;

Researches, designs, develops, evaluates, and reviews training programs and materials, and recommends modifications as appropriate;

Designs, develops, and prepares curricula and course outlines;

Selects or develops instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other materials;

Formulates learning objectives, and plans, designs, and develops methods for the assessment and evaluation of training effectiveness;

Formulates and develops plans, procedures, and programs to meet specific training needs;

Prepares budgets for various training programs;

Assists in preparing various reports related to training;

Assists in formulating policies and procedures for training programs;

Assists in developing promotional examinations and oversees the administration of exams; and

Assists in solving training problems and ensuring the effective utilization of modern training methods and techniques, and promotes the use of training services.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of training and education principles, procedures, and techniques; knowledge group processes and group dynamics; knowledge of instructional and curriculum design; ability to formulate learning objectives; ability to create and evaluate training objectives; ability to gather information from multiple sources, analyze the data, extrapolate relevant data, and prepare reports and spreadsheets; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks within time constraints; ability to work independently and creatively; skill to effectively deliver training;.

 

Acceptable Experience and Training:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, education, or related field, plus two years of training experience.

 

OR

 

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Certificates and Licenses Required:

Valid Texas driver's license or available alternate means of transportation.
