A Proactive Approach: The purpose of this continuing education activity is to enhance the professional's knowledge of state and federal rules and requirements for infection control processes, early identification and reduction of risk, and prevention of infectious disease. The professional will be empowered to facilitate change(s) within their area of practice and to identify if the facility implemented adequate care measures to prevent negative outcomes for residents residing in long-term care facilities. This activity provides 5.0 contact hours for the nurse, 5.0 clock hours for nursing facility administrators, and 5.0 clock hours for social workers.
